RBI Empowers the Blind through Computer Training
Ongoing technical training for persons with visual impairment is in full swing at the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) in DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) Regional Office 7, Cebu City.
Through a collaborative effort between Resources for the Blind (RBI) and the Overbrook-Nippon Network on Educational Technology (ON-NET), this initiative is part of the DICT’s SPARK program, which is the “Strengthening the Philippine Workforce through Adaptive and Responsive Digital Knowledge”. The focus is on equipping participants with vital digital skills using the NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access).
It’s amazing to witness how tools like NVDA are opening up new pathways for independence and inclusion, offering access to essential digital resources. This training is more than just education; it’s about building an inclusive future where everyone has the chance to thrive. This activity runs from September 15-27, 2024.
We’re excited to see how our 23 participants from the Visayas Region will continue breaking barriers and unlocking new opportunities!
